David Byrne!!

On Friday, I had the distinct pleasure of getting to see David Byrne live in concert here in Ljubljana.

There was a lot of back and forth about whether I was gonna go and it really came down to a few hours before the concert where I was racing out the door and to the ticket counter, but it was WELL worth it. David Byrne is one of my favorite artists and people (see his blog here) of all time and has been a big influence on me. It was an honor and a pleasure to see him in concert and I promise I will never hesitate on something like that again. My face was hurting from smiling and cheering. Bravo!

Here is some footage from Belgrade

and another from Vermont

I was *this* close of going as well, but unlike you, I didn't go. I know, I know :-(

Anyway, I did try to contact the band on tour, to offer them a free walking tour of Ljubljana (I'm a tourist guide here, and bet I'd love to show DB around town!), but don't think they got my message.

Anyway, Camille, I was looking for your post on Maša Kagao Knez, but I couldn't find a search bar anywhere in your blog! Neither could I find a direct contact mail address, so I post here. Feel free to edit out the offtopic-ness :-)

Maša Kagao Knez, for whom you showed appreciation before, will be having a free workshop on African dance. Here's the data:

Maša Kagao Knez - delavnica afriških plesov
KUD France Prešeren , Karunova ulica 14,
29.08.2009, 12.00,
30.08.2009, 12.00,

Hope you like it! Have a nice time, Carlitos

Hi Carlitos. Yeah, you shoulda gone!

I know David has a folding bike he takes everywhere so he usually goes exploring that way.

the search bar is right at the top of the page. look again. right at the top there.

thanks for the maša info. she did that same workshop last year. i'd really rather see a real performance, but maybe i will go.

have a great summer!

Wise decision!

Was out of town, so was MASSIVELY bummed to miss him here. I don't imagine he'll be passing through again any time soon...
