This is the Captain and I seven years ago in NYC, where it all started.
It's only right that we return together (only for a holiday, mind you) to see what else the city has in store for us.
There will also be jaunts in Los Angeles and San Francisco.
I'll take as many pictures as possible and I'll post when I can. ;)

Quite an interesting blog. I dealt with the whole "odd black person" thing myself as a foreign exchange student in Ranea (aka East Upper Buttcrack), Sweden. Kids stared, but none of the adults treated me rudely or with disdain. Random fact: my host family owned a copy of "What's Love Got to Do With It" on VHS. Anyway, enjoy your vacation and stop by my spot sometime.

Thanks for reading Fly Brother! No one in Slovenia really treats me rudely or with disdain. I am continually amazed to find that the awful racist people usually live in places where they actually know and interact with black people. In places where they don't know any they are often excited to meet you.

You know, you're right..."familiarity breeds contempt," and folks definitely tend to act funky in places where they think they "know" you.
