Echoing

Like I said, it's gonna take me a little while longer to finish up all this stuff that I signed up to do. Boo Hoo.

While you wait you can watch (and ponder!) a clip of the film, The Pervert's Guide to Cinema, by one of my favorite Slovenes, the venerable critic Slavoj Žižek . I re-watched this movie yesterday and I still have to re-watch it again to take notes and think a lot more about it.

OK, back to work!

Oh, I want to see this movie! Where did you get it? Netflix doesn't have it, but they do have Zizek!--have you seen this one?

well, as i am sure you know, we don't have Netflix in Slovenia, and I haven't even seen a decent video store in town. Most of us are forced to employ...other methods..of procuring films.

Oh and yes, I saw Žižek! I don't think he liked the film but as a big fan I really enjoyed seeing what he is like in day to day life (like playing with his son or lying in bed). There were a lot of very funny moments.

He looks quite cute saying: ..."I've got this spontaneous confusion of directions"..., meaning probably he confuses sometimes the left and the right side,
but I'm wondering how this sounds to an an english speaking peson:
having a spontaneous confusion of directions, is this english or just a very personal style of it

@aja - i love that part too. it is not really a normal thing to say in eglish, but i have a feeling žižek speaks in his own personal style in slovene also!

Other methods, I see. Yeah, good luck finding a decent video store. I heard there was some service similar to Netflix in Slovenia now (iTivi, or something like that), but apparently their collection is not that great.

PS--And Zizek is always so much fun. I love the fact that my street cred rises here in the States among the people who know him and learn that I'm from Slovenia. As if that means that I am somehow closely connected to him. But I'll take all the easily earned cred I can get. ;)

@tina - that's funny. part of the reason the captain got so much cred with me (lo those many years ago) is because of my obsession with žižek. (of course i was also similarly intrigued by peljhan, skorič, cosić, laibach and all those slovenian artsy fartsy folks as well)

hello anonymous! if you see me again feel free to come up and say Živjo! :)
As for Bill Clinton, I guess he'd be first husband but it doesn't look like they have much of a chance anymore. I am happy to say.

lep vikend!
