So happy I did. I am an expat myself, from NY, and moved to Paris last Sept of 07!!! I love your pics and interesting tid bits you share. It's kind of like saying the rest of the States is probably just like Boston. I'm sure the folks in Miami, Las Vegas, Dallas or Atlanta would beg to differ!

I'm glad you had a nice time, though!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8192526388236454432.post-78943585225954598252008-05-10T15:11:00.000+02:002008-05-10T15:11:00.000+02:00Lovely pictures, I hope that you have a great time...Lovely pictures, I hope that you have a great time!Felicityhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02640532435058567373noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8192526388236454432.post-16973987417991813142008-05-10T12:08:00.000+02:002008-05-10T12:08:00.000+02:00This generic feeling is bavarian charme. Well from...This generic feeling is bavarian charme. Well from my north-german point of view at least. Whenever I see pictures of Munich I'm thinking "Wow... what a totally different world.". I wont disavow the reason might be that Munich is extremely posh and that I am simply incapable to see the many things all german places have in common. But a bit evidence for my attitude can be found in accepted opinion: In the rest of Germany, bavarians are humerously seen as aliens.(It's not easy to get through to their dialect.)
If you eventually want to experience a completely different german city - visit Berlin. I think, it has as much to do with Munich as Paris has to do with Munich. :)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8192526388236454432.post-43042031835400953272008-05-10T10:41:00.000+02:002008-05-10T10:41:00.000+02:00Hey! (I visited Munich in 1994 and got the same kind of "suspiciously pristine" vibe from it -- but I had also been on a train for a good 14 hours beforehand, so my viewpoint might have been skewed. Sadly, it was pre digital-cam -- and all my Munich pictures wound up getting double exposed!)

Were you traveling with someone, or do you take your own picture with a tripod?
